Kossow's Triangle

Bashed, crumpled
and crammed into
a load-off by the
articulated backhoe

Was it ever new?
Building about the
size and shape
of the lot stranded
between oncoming streams
of State Route traffic and
beside Iron City
Sash & Door. Often
we took our lunch break
at Kossow’s to watch Leon
the door perforator
drink his lunch in
beers and shots then
wobble back to work.
Floor joists had weakened
over the years so that
the whole joint leaned
south and, without care,
the drunks might settle
all in one corner.
